Onam and Pookalam
Onam is here and the hunt for flowers to put the Pookalam has begun! “Pookalam”, the intricate flower carpet, is an integral part of Onam celebrations. Pookalam is made in the front courtyard of the house to welcome King Mahabali, who legend says, that will visit Kerala to meet his people.

Know pretty well, that mine is an Utopian dream, but still at times I dream that I am viewing a number of flower carpets, all of which are arranged of locally collected flowers, ignoring jamanthi, kadambam, vadamalli etc, come from neighbouring states.
